At Roxy's Farm we are truly committed to saving the lives of as many animals as possible. Unfortunately this sometimes means that animals we take under our care have extensive issues that require emergency surgery. We recently rescued two more adorable rabbits named Barney and Betty. Sadly Betty's previous dreadful living conditions left her with many problems on her back leg including broken bones that were causing her immense pain and resulting in issues with basic movement. Our Veterinarian informed us that due to these problems being left unattended to for so long, the only solution would be to fully amputate her leg. Thanks to the unbelievable support from our fantastic doners via a GoFundMe campaign, we were able to raise the $1,200 needed for her surgery. It was a nerve wracking few hours, but we finally got a call informing us that Betty's surgery went great and we picked her up that evening. She is now healing and in great care here at Roxy's Farm. Every day little by little she becomes more trusting of us, and we suspect that by mid Summer she will be good as new, and happier than ever. I have included some photos of the scan from her broken leg, along with the successful surgery. We are eternally thankful to everyone who continues to help us on our journey to give these beautiful innocent animals a second chance at a happy life.
